How a group card works on Because of You
A group card on Because of You starts with a person, not a template. You create a fan club for the one you are celebrating, pick the occasion and a card design, and get a single link. Everyone you share it with adds their own message, in private, from their own phone. When the day comes you send the card, and they open a reveal: an envelope, a song, and every message arriving one at a time.
The whole thing takes a couple of minutes to set up and nothing to sign. Below is each step in order, followed by the questions people ask before they start their first card.

Before you start your first card
What is a fan club?
A fan club is the page Because of You builds around one person. Every card anyone sends them lives there, so this year's birthday card sits beside last year's, and the messages become a record of what people have said about them over time.
Do I need an account to start a card?
You can start a card, choose a design and begin inviting people before you sign up. An account is created at the end, right before the card is sent, so that you can come back to it and see who has signed.
Do the people signing need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can add a message, a photo, a short video or a drawing from a phone or laptop in about a minute. Only the organizer has an account.
How is the card delivered?
You choose the moment. Send it straight away, or schedule a date and time, and the recipient gets a link by email or text. They open an animated envelope, the song you picked plays and the messages arrive one by one.
Can I see messages before the card is sent?
Yes. The organizer sees every message as it arrives, can set the deadline for signing and can preview the full reveal before sending it.
Can people add messages after the card is sent?
Yes. The card stays open in the recipient's fan club, so a late message still reaches them. Late arrivals are added to the card rather than lost.
Can I get a printed copy?
Yes. Any finished card can be printed from the design you chose, with your greeting written inside, and mailed to the recipient. It is an optional extra priced per card.
What does it cost?
Creating, signing and sending a group card is free with no limit on how many people sign. Printed cards, a premium card for a single occasion and a family plan are optional paid extras; see the pricing page for what each includes.
